A man came into our store wanting to buy 2 or 3 .22LR bullets because he had trapped her by his house and needed to shoot her. He said he is expecting a litter of pretty expensive pups soon and didn't want to risk losing any. We asked if we could relocate her and he said only if you come get it!

It was pretty neat seeing one so close still alive.

Good for you. That's a good deed. Seems like a pity just to shoot such a noble beast in a cage like that.

Not judging mind you. Just thinking.

We trapped / released several bobcats while I was at the Mouse House. They tend to get real pizzed off in a trap. Beautiful critters though.

Negative Mark, always with Hav-a-hart type traps. Even our gator traps were giant box traps where we could relocate and release the gators in designated canals. We weren't allowed to kill anything (except poisonous snakes). Even then, we had to bag them and take to non-guest areas to dispatch. Only Management was allowed to carry machetes for that purpose.

What did poisonous snakes ever do to you Ric? I know that you guys actually have several there, the highest population in country.

Hayden watches Animal Planet and NatGeo and they are always in Miami Dade handling exotic snakes.

What did they do?!!   BITE! lol

I've had several cotton mouths latch onto my waders while coon hunting in the swamp before.   Love that snake proof material!

Cottonmouths are aggressive, I could see dispatching them, G.

When I lived in Alabama, I had a buddy try and slap a cottonmouth with his fishing pole to get him away from the boat.Loco The snake wrapped up around his fishing pole and started crawling towards his hands. Luckily, my dad slapped the pole into the water and it didn't end up in the boat with us!

The old man that I go with had one latch onto his waders and wouldn't turn loose,  he grabbed it behind the head and went to throw it but it wrapped around his hand and bunge'ed back at him, missed his face by about 2 inches mouth wide open...  at that point he stopped trying to just toss them away and started using his machete to dispatch them in the future.

I don't fool with any snake whether I have a machete or a flame thrower. If I am in the spot they wanna be in, my day is done!

Mostly moccasins and Eastern Diamondback rattlesnakes. Occasionally, we caught coral snakes too.

Every now and then if I stay up late outside, I'll hear a bobcat squawling in the area.
When I hunted my aunt and uncle's place down in Logan county, there was a beechnut tree I'd sit in sometimes. I liked the tree because it was easy to climb and had a big flat spot in it that was easy to set in. The problem was the bobcats liked it too. Wasn't unusual to find bobcat scat in that flat spot.
