I am trying to make a decision between these two budget scopes [$200.00].Leupold vx freedom 3x9x40 or Vortex diamondback 3x9x40 or 4x12x40 with a few bucks less.I know they both are suppose to have good warranty, but which has the best glass? Any information on these two scopes would be a big help.My eyes isn't as good as it used to be.I'm going to mount it on an AR-15.Farthest shot 300 yds.

I have one of the Redfield 2- 7 which I like for that use the one in the link is a kit with the mount so its a good deal.  Vortex has a no question asked warranty and I've used it with success. In this budget I think the Redfield is a solid choice but having a 2-7 is way better than a low end of 3x when something is under 50 yds.

I have some experience with the diamond back and really like it for what I paid.  The Freedom line I believe took over the VX1 line and if so I've used one of those before.  Both for the price seemed ok but I felt the glass in the Diamondback was better to my eyes than the VX1
