Vintage Channel Master 14-Transistor Two-Band (AM-FM) Radio, Model 6518A, Made In Japan | Vintage radio, Transistor radio, Old radios

Right now I'm listening to Talk Radio on my 1960-63 Channel Master 14 transistor radio. I am down here in Waco and I can pick up Dallas-Fort Worth AM radio on this. Some of my BETTER radios won't do this.

I have a whole collection of OLD transistor radios.  I have nine radios....only three are from the seventies...all the rest are oldies from the Sixties....

* all the years we lived on the farm in the 1960s we used an old GE washing machine like the one up above. My Mom bought it for $5 at an auction. We were using that back in the days when people were watching STAR TREK on TV.

At first we hung clothes out on the line....(the Clothes Line...) but eventually my Mom bought a DRYER! And the dryer sat right next to that ancient machine and we still used it! It worked great.

When we were first married my wife and I had a wringer washer not unlike the one in your picture except we cheated and had an electric motor. Also still had a magneto telephone set in the farmhouse. Converted to common battery service shortly after.

As to your other pics I think my guesses were much more interesting.

Not exactly an”old” thing but something not many suburban people experience is cow sticking. Lived on a dairy farm in 1970 and one time a cow got bloat from eating fresh alfalfa. Had to call the vet who stuck her just behind the ribs to release the gas. Not the most pleasant thing but interesting. Cow was fine right after.

Also used to help my father-in-law castrate the piglets. Cats used to fight over the testicles, loved those fresh oysters!

Craig at cliff's edge Craig.  I turned 62 a month after I retired while I'm still under Severance pay.  This made it workable for me.  Time has flown by since, been to Florida Twice and juggling retirement applications from 2 401s and 3 Pensions, what fun!  I'm finally sleeping past 4AM.  Sometimes I sleep till 7 but that's rare...

I've wanted a truck for years but could never justify it due to fuel costs and long commutes.  Now in retirement I traded my '14 Camry in on a '19 Chevy Colorado.  3 days after that I fulfilled another long time desire, I bought a vintage Bass boat, A Ranger Rawhide FG 15' freshly refurbed.  I also ordered a new Suzuki 20HP outboard for the boat which is current in route sea freighted... saved over $3K doing that...

I'm keeping busy but I still won't know where I stand till sometime early 2021.

And my uncle would catch the chickens by the neck with the chicken catcher.

....maybe once a year I would gather up every burlap I could find....maybe 20 sacks in the Spring....I found them laying around.....

Imperial, a user grade jack knife | BladeForums.com

Now 10 cents a sack wasn't a heck of a lot of money but in those days you could buy an Imperial jackknife for ONE DOLLAR!!!

1963 VISCOUNT 833 - Short Wave AM- Marine Portable Radio PRISTINE! - $80.77 | PicClick

I had one of these as a teenager on the farm. I could listen to AM music and short wave....I never got anything on Marine Band...

....I actually picked up Radio Moscow and pirate radio stations broadcasting from ships off the coast of Britain!

It was one of my greatest possessions. I have three of them now in my collection.

Oh! It was made by Toshiba and according to radio historians was one hell of a radio. I still listen to mine! Almost 60 years old!
