Went to the range Saturday.

Hands were cold and I over torqued the nut on the Badger rings I use with my SS and .308.

I usually use a ratchet and 1/2" socket and never have a problem.

I grabbed a 1/2" wrench this time.

POP!! The little clamp piece under the tightening nut on the front ring snapped.

I made up some cuss words as I threw my wrench on the ground!!

I could see a line across it under the nut where it broke cleanly, but it still remained intact.

I thought, what the hell and kept shooting.

I shot a couple more groups (20 rounds) with NO change in POI whatsoever.

I backed the nut off and the clamp fell apart in two pieces.

I emailed Marty @ Badger Ord this morning and told him my dilemma.

I also explained to him that it was 100% my fault it broke.

"No sweat", he says, "give me your address and I'll send you 2 new ones just in case you tweaked the other one too"......

He mailed them out today already.

Problem solved.

Marty's a good man who still understands customer, (even dumb ones like me,)   service.

Many thanks, Marty!!

Ok, that did it!!!
I'm calling SWFA as soon as I get finish with this post and telling them to cancel my back order on the IOR HD ring/base combo and send me B.O

I'm doing this for two reasons. First,  I've called or emailed just about business large and small in the United States looking for other brands of rings/bases and I'm tired.  Secondly, I really like that kind of customer service. Hell, I go to the Country Store to buy beer even though I can get it from the PX a good bit cheaper.

Cheaptrick I don't know if you're a paid spokesperson for Badger Ord, but you just sold me!

No Brother, I'm a "free agent"

I just like dealing with top shelf vendors like BO and SWFA and referring them to folks.

Wait a minute....Sgt. Logan?? Biloxi, Miss??...My spider senses are tingling now!!

Does the term "Kessler AFB" mean anything to you, my friend??

Brother, I'd highly recommend the Standards with that setup.
