I just recently purchased a Rock River Arms Entry Tactical AR15 (this rifle has a flattop receiver with the Dominator removable rear sight for mounting an ACOG).  I will remove this rear sight when I am ready to mount a scope on it.  I would like to mount a conventional scope on this rifle but I do not know exactly where to start.  The entry tactical AR15 has a non-removable front sight.  I would like to know if mounting a scope without the use of high-rise scope rings is even feasible (I am worried about seeing the front sight when I look through the scope).  Will the front sight be visible?

Any feedback on the best method to mount a scope, which will be easily removable (so that I may transition back to my ACOG) would be very much appreciated.  In addition, I am thinking of mounting either a Nikon 2.5-10x42 Monarch Riflescope with the BDC reticle or a Leupold 3-9x40 VX-II Riflescope with the Long Range Duplex reticle.  Which is best in your opinions?  If any of you have pictures of a rifle with a non-removable front sight with a scope utilizing low mounts I would like to see them too.  Thank you very much!

usually the front site is not visible because the scope is not focusing on it. The lower the power the more likely you will see it. High rings are necessary to raise the height of the eye on the check piece not any;thing to do with the front site. The Nikon is a better set up. At 2.5 you will "ghost" the front sight.
