    Posted: June/16/2006 at 22:29

First let me say that this is my first post here and this looks to be a wonderful sight. I work for a gun shop and mount most of our scopes for people. I use mostly Leupold and Burris. For myself I've been using the Leupold Qrw cross slot design with  Burris Zee Rings..

BUT, I've been hearing a ton of good stuff about Talley Rings and Bases. I have to have an all steel setup and I prefer something with two locking screws on the rings. This leads me to believe I should like the Talley QR with set screws. I don't really want QR's, I just prefer solid-fixed setup's. But there fixed rings have only one locking screw. Has anyone used any of these rings and are they really supposed to be the "Best" out there. If I like them enough then I might start selling them to my customers also..

Not sure if it matters but if I use these it would be the low 1" rings holding on a VXIII 3.5-10x40 on a Wby Sub-Moa 300 Win Mag..

Thanks for any replies

Welcome to the OT!!!!

Talleys are VERY good. The "best", I don't know.

I have had a few sets that worked well. No complaints.

Warne also makes a great product and may even be a little cheaper than the steel Talleys.

Either of those or Conetrol rings will fine on your "Wby SUB MOA .300 Win mag".

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

demoIL,

Also take a look at www.tacticalprecision.com link for bases and rings.Very affordable and very stoutly built. They offer steel, aluminum or titanium.Their tactical bases give you a little more height, girth so you can use lower rings. They also supply the military,I believe.I Have ordered several sets(Steyr SBS 300)(7mm SBS)( Custom 300 on 1917 frame) Worked out great. They supposedly make some of I.O.R.'s rings.
