I want to mount a Bushnell 3200 (1") on a Savage 99E (CA mid-1960).  I'd like to use a Quick Release system so I'll still have use of iron sights.  Has anyone mounted QR base/rings on their Savage 99?  Suggestions?

Could you find a QR base? On such an uncommon gun it may be hard to find a base that is usually designed for common rifles.

I ended up using the Weaver base that fits the '99 and Weaver rings. While the rings may not release as easily or quickly as others, it's just a matter of undoing the thumb screws.  No tools necessary.  The base, though, is fixed but low enough that I can use the front/rear sights.  I want to get a receiver peep sight to put on it and I'm hoping the bases won't get in the way too much.

Possible quick release rings you might check out to use with the weaver base you put on the 99E is the Leupold WQRS line that sounds like the QR equivalent for use with the weaver style base.

Suggest you can Leupold Tech Support. their website MOUNT CHARTS did not satisfy my query for similar search.
