Got back from the doc abit ago and got released after a LONG time to do what I want. So,I'm gonna button up my 9.3 Mauser and try shootin it REAL soon. Before I do though I'm wondering if I should put crossbolts in this stock. It was completely glassbedded at one time but I removed the bedding in the forend back to within 1" of the recoil lug recess and left the action area bedded to. I've got good clearance around the action screws. Think I need crossbolts?

Cross bolts can look nice but I really don't think they add any strength to a stock. If fact they can weaken a stock if installed incorrectly.

THANKS guys. Roy,I was told the same thing else where. I've gone over the fit of the bbl/action and stock as many times as I'm going to. I can see no problems. Recoil lug butts up good,bbl/action doesn't raise up when tighting the action screws, bbls floated good. I'll button things up tomorrow and maybe try it this weekend. The rifle weighs out at 8.6lbs w/scope so I just can't see there being that much force to bust the stock.
