This was a stock .308 Ruger American:

I got a great deal on it, new.  However, the stock just did not "fit" me.  Everything about it felt wrong.  So I got the Boyd's Pro Varmint stock and purchased CDiPrecision Gunworks bottom metal.  CDi has an amazing deal... you purchase their bottom metal and they will inlet the stock for you... free. I tried to make them take money for the work they did and they would not... said "it's a part of our service".

And what service it is.  This is what I ended up with:

The workmanship is outstanding.  The new feel is exactly what I wanted and I still have less in this than if I had purchased a different rifle.  I can probably sell or trade the old stock... probably works for someone.

The scope is the SWFA SS10xHD... serial number 666.

It is about to get some work.

Very cool!

Do you send the entire rifle into them to get inletted, or just the stock?

Very nice KB!

How's the trigger? Does it have the Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger?

What kind of mags does the CDI take?

I sent the barreled action, new stock and they had the bottom metal.

The trigger is the adjustable.

I had the choice of AICS or MDT... chose MDT because of other rifles that use them.

I am as happy with this rifle as I could be.  The inletting job is as near perfect as I can envision.  Went to the range yesterday and I am thoroughly impressed.  I did not shoot at 1000.  Saving that for a better time.  I've been to this range at least a dozen times, just driving through looking.  Only once have I seen anyone on the 1000 yard range... until yesterday.  People shooting at various ranges... 200 yard line, 600 yard line, one guy went to the 800 yard line... however, each shorter line ties up all the longer lines.  I stayed on the steel range and shot out to 500.  Rifle consistently under 1MOA, generally under 1/2MOA.  Trigger is cleaning up with use, bolt is getting smoother and smoother, magazine action is clean.  Nothing about this rifle I don't like, now.  CDi is an outstanding company with outstanding people.

My highest rating.
