I am looking for a recommendation for a scope mout for a SAKO 243 heavy barell with a Zeiss 4.5-14X44 scope. Talley bases and rings have been suggested. Is it better to go with a SAKO ring and eliminate the need for bases?

SAKO rings are excellent and a lot better looking than Talley.
I went with S&K on my Tikka because they are very strong, self alinging, have windage adjustments and are just sooooo handsome (one piece wrap around spring steel rings with no screws.)

I used, and didn't like the Sako Opti Locs.

Very expensive, crappy/soft allen head cap screws.

I used and liked Leupolds Ring Mounts and Talleys on a .300 Win Mag Sako M75.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

I've heard less than favorable opinions on Sako's rings, but have not used them myself.  Talleys are great.  Also, Warne makes rings for different grooved receivers that are of excellent quality.

Does Burris make a Signature Ring (30 mm. in matte or silver) that clamps directly on the action (no base needed), for a Sako 75 Varmint Stainless?  Will the Burris Signature Zee Rings clamp on to the integral dovetail on top of the action?

I know this is an older post, but I shoot all SAKO's and have a strong preference for Leupold SAKO rings!
A great rifle is only as good as the scope on it!
