My wife gave me a Sako 300wsm for Christmas, and I want to put a scope to match the rifle, I am looking at the Schmidt & Bender 3-12X50 Klassik with the illuminated reticle, has anyone tried one, or had any experience with their customer service?

No. But at that price there shouldn't be any need for customer service!! But, it's a New World out there now. In the old days you just bought a $29 Weaver and used it till you died.

The only S&B I had was the Summit. It was very nice optically to be sure except... I thought the reticle was too thin for low light usage. I did have to deal with their CS once as the turrets were mis-marked. They immediately sent out new stickers and were very friendly. I did think it weird though that nobody apologized for the mistake or that their QC missed it. Oh well.

I have 2 Zeniths & no problems in the last 1.5yrs.I have on occasion spoken to them & I found their CS very helpful & patient. The glass I'm told is all the same in there new scopes.Give them a call & confirm. The illum jumps the price of the scope about $550.Also I get some tunneling down in the lower powers but that doesn't seem to bother me all that much.S&B used to be the gold standard that all were compared too but a lot of the other big dogs are nipping at their heels Plenty of good choices now.Look before you leap.

( for two thousand dollars, Schmidt and Bender should fly a butler over from Germany to polish up your scope every time you take your rifle outdoors! )
