I have a Ruger Blackhawk in 30 Caliber Carbine with 7.5" barrel, same shell as the M1 Carbine. I want to install a scope but since I don' t have any other handguns what are big enough for a scope, I need help on what scope will hold up the the recoil, ANY SUGGESTIONS???? Oh yea, I also would like to know what mount bases to get for the SCOPE for the Blackhawk, more SUGGESTIONS?????

Without drilling and tapping the clamp mount Weaver will work. The 30 carbine has very little recoil, less than a 357, so about any scope will work. The bad part is the twist rate on the barrel only allows 30 cal bullets around 115 gr. If the twist rate were faster around 1-9 any 50 gr spitzer would work and increase the downrange ballistics significantly. Beacuse the gun is not capable of the accuracy of say a T/c or an XP a high power variable would probably be a waste of time. I would pick something that would be fast around 2-3 power to get on target. Nikon, Leo and Weaver are good choices.
When you come to the fork in the road take it. |

B-Square makes a mount as well. Uses existing rear sight holes and barrel side clamps to attach.
All Calibers, bbl. length of 6" and longer |
