Hi all!
I am looking for some recommendations for a new scope for a Mannlicher Schoenauer. I would like to find a nice new variable to replace an aging Pecar. This particular MS is somewhat unusual in that it has original Steyr mounts and rings. In this system the front ring clamps on to the front objective bell, not the tube, and is 40mm in diameter. The rear ring is a standard 26mm ring that clamps on the tube. I'm not too concerned about a 1" tube, because I can always shim it to 26mm, but a 26mm tube scope would be perfect. Can anyone recommend a scope with a 40mm OD objective that would fit this guy? Thanks! Larry |

Not many scope makers publish the OD of the objective housing. You might have to go to a store and "Mic" a bunch to find one that fits. You can pretty much forget finding anything 26mm in the U.S.
I would try searching on eBay at least once a week or send your scope of the be refurbished by Burt Fricke 818-761-1593.
Also contact these two guys (they deal in collectible scopes).
