Trying to decide between a 30mm tube fixed power Super Sniper from SWFA about $300 plus shipping. Probably would go with the 10x, or a Leupold Mark AR 4-12x or 6-18x, with a 1" tube for around $500, or really bite the bullet and go for a Leupold Mark 4 LR 4.5-14x40 with a 30mm tube around $900 with Mil-Dot reticle. I hope to do some long range target shooting, if I ever get my rifle back from the factory. Any ideas or thoughts, or better option?

Here's a picture of my 10PC .308 in a McRee chassis - very similar to your 10T.  Up top is a SS 5-20 non-illuminated.

I've shot this out to 600 yds and can tell you that the variable power scope is awfully nice, depending on the size of targets you are shooting at.

For the money, I'd certainly look at a SS scope in whatever power you decide on.  SWFA has one of the best warranties in the business, should you ever need it.

Keep an eye on the Sample List for a demo to save a few bucks.  In years past, around tax time or around black Friday they sometimes go on sale.  If the 5-20 is just more than you want to spend, don't overlook the SS 3-15.  I have a buddy who has one on the identical rifle, his main deer hunting rig, and he's a happy camper.

FWIW, I'm also running a SS 1-6 on my AR, and a SS 3-9 on a 10PC .223.

Either one of these SS scopes would be well spent money for what you want. A step up in glass would be almost double the cost.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I have a Savage 10 Precision Carbine that is very accurate and works very well, out to 800 yards at least, with the SWFA SS 3-15x which is a $699 option plus another $100 and up for a 20 M. O. A. picatinny rail and rings.  I use a Weaver +20 pic rail with Burris medium height Extreme rings, around $120 total.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I stumbled across the Leupold Mark 4 on sale last weekend for $699, so I swallowed hard and grabbed it along with some Warne 30mm steel rings. All made in USA. Can't wait to get to the range and try it out.
