cool, you will love the gun
what's legal hunting time where you are at? stand or stalk hunting? sounds like a 1.5-6x40 might be ideal |

I have a Nikon Monarch 2-8x32 on one of my 308s and it's a great little scope. Even with rings and bases you'll have change left over. I'd probably go with Talley low rings rather than the ones that came with the Tikka.
Nikon Monarch 2-8x32 in Talley Lightweight rings on a Howa Youth in 308. Nikon Team Primos in Talley Lightweight low rings on a Tikka T3 Lite. Edited by sholling - June/20/2009 at 11:02 |

Of the two, my pick for shorter ranged stand hunting and for your rifle would be the 2-8x32 Monarch.

well in that case, heck yeah
EP pricing definetely helps I like the 2.5-10x42 as a good all around scope and recommend it to often my dad wanted a new scope for his 22-250 and that's what he went with based on my recommendations.. he loves it he can resolve .22 cal holes at 100 yards with 78 year old eyes if you have a nice buck under the tree lines at 150 yards at last light, teh extra bit of magnification and low light capability of the larger objective will be appreciated if you were going to to a lot of walking, I think the 2-8 might be a better option Edited by ccoker - June/20/2009 at 19:21 |

Give these a look http://www.sightwonders.com/home.html I have the Wonders Optical Tac. 4-14X50 on my .308 TIKKA Varment & it works very good. I haven't shot it past 600yds yet, but it should go to 1000 without any trouble.
