I am in the process of purchasing a Savage 16 FCSS in 300 WIN. I am wondering what 2 piece mounts are good and will I need low, medium or high rings. I am planning on putting a Nilkon Pro Staff 3X9X40 scope on it. Does anyone know?

Thanks

Talley = +1. Also take a look at Warne's. Good, solid mounts. Look under the mounts, rings and bases section on the left side menu bar on the home page. In all likelyhood, low, 1" rings should suffice (especially if you go with Talley's) with that scope.BTW, Welcome!
