Currently have 3 Sightron III 6-24X50 LRMOA Tactical, mounted to two .308s and one 6PPC rifle. I now have a .300 Win Mag Rem. Sendero in need of a new scope. I have no qualms with buying a 4th Sightron III, very good quality for the buck, but wonder how much more would I have to spend before really seeing an improvement over my current standard. My shooting is pretty much off a bench or prone shooting at targets out to 400 meters. Longer distances are desired but currently are not readily available so that won't happen with any regularity. Is there a scope that has noticeably better clarity without breaking the bank? A few hundred dollars more than the Sightron is achievable, $1000+ is more than I wish to spend. Might the 56 mm objective Sightrons III be an affordable step up in clarity? I don't care much for the higher mounts needed but I won't rule that out at this point. Comments? Roy |
