i am looking at getting a SIG SP2022 but i have never been able to put one in my hands so far and see how it feels. does anyone have experience with this gun? does it seem to big to carry?
i have a glock model 22 so i am looking for something a little smaller then that.
i was also looking into the smith & wesson 6906? i have that same model in .45 and i love it.
i am just not sure if i want to switch things up or if i should go with something i know i love.
any input on these guns and the experience you have with them would be much appreciated.
look forward to reading the comments
thanks

No but P229 Yes P220 Yes P226 Yes.
I will note that I looked at a new P229 yesterday and the double action was great but the single action had a LOT of creep in the trigger, the older P229s felt better to me. The last two sigs I bought were Sig 1911 guns and neither was reliable so I no longer have them. Have you thought about a Glock 23 or 26 or 27 if you need a smaller pistol. If I had to pick it would be the Glock 23 that way you could just use glock 22 mags for additional ammo. I think you want to try the trigger on the Sig before you buy so you know what you are getting.
Im not big on under lug rails and there is very little I would want to attach to a rail on a pistol. Not sure why someone would want a plastic Sig when they could have an alloy Sig.
Isnt it time for you to own a commander length 1911 like a Kimber Pro Carry CDPII? Edited by Urimaginaryfrnd - July/26/2012 at 12:13 |

man! it would be awesome to be able to take the step to a kimber pro just dont think that is in my budget! not anytime soon anyways i just had my first liitle boy so money isnt everything it use to be right now hahaha. i have shot a few different Sig pistols before and have always felt like there was a little creep in every trigger so thats what i was affarid of with this gun. your comment really helped in the since of if i want a Sig or not.
as for the Glock 23 that is a good idea i have thought about going down that road a few times i was just being picky and thinking i wanted something other then a glock.
but thank you for your input urimaginaryfrnd that really helped in my decision making.
might just have to go with the glock 23!!! Cant go wrong there.

I was thinking about a Glock 19, but after researching I am probably going to go with a Sig 2022 or possibly an XD or XDM. And the trigger on the newer 2022 is much nicer than the older ones I have used. Also another bonus with the Sig over the Glock is you can get night sights from the factory.
I would be looking at the Sigforum there is a lot of info there on the 2022. And even though it is a Sig forum they talk about pretty much every other type of handgun as well. I would spend sometime reading here. This is probably the topic and comments by Bruce Gray that changed my mind. Mr Gray is probably one of the very best gun smiths when it comes to Sigs and an excellent shooter as well. http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/3750066292 Edited by Sparky - July/26/2012 at 15:08 |
