I used to live in WA. Think you will have an up hill battle with the I5 crowd - good luck.

Thanks. You are right that it will be an uphill battle. Most WA gun owners I talk to that believe silencers are legal think they are not useful or somehow bad for our image. Ranb |

GOOD LUCK...I have fought many of battle with the local PD and Sherrifs so finally I just went out and made a trust now i do not need any signatures...
I hope they realize that shooting a slienced weapon is a lot safer and more controllable...
Maybe someone on here would know the statistics of how many crimes have been commited where a silencer was involved???

Update I sent copies of the video to all of the House Dems and some of the Republicans. I only got replies from three. It appears the time invested was largely wasted. I was able to get Cease Fire WA and two police organizations, WACOPS and WASPC to take a neutral stance on registered silencer use in WA. I also wrote to every county sheriff requesting crime data on silencer use. Most counties reported no silencer crime at all. Some reported none in the last 5-10 years. Five counties reported a total of ten silencer related crimes, one of those was a murder currently on trial. The local rifle range I belong to is being sued partly over noise issues. RCW 9.41.250(c) prohibits any device that suppresses gun noise, even if it is not attached. So there is no legal means of reducing rifle range noise in WA. Not even insulated shooting rooms or large boxes into which a rifle barrel is inserted. WA law sucks when it comes to gun control. Ranb |
