Hi Chris, I noticed the WTE were on closeout. I seem to remember you thought these were a good value, the new Aetec as it were. I never bit because the eye relief was much shorter then a real Aetec, shoot, it is shorter then most any scope at only 3 inches. Is there a particular reason you are closing them out, and are they still considered a good buy? What's up with the eye relief.? |

We bought them on closeout from Simmons and passed the deal on to our customers because they are such fine scopes for the money. Now that Meade has bought Simmons we are not sure if they are going to keep the Whitetail Expedition in the line or not, if they do you can expect the price to go way up on them very soon. I am not sure why they list them all as having a 3" eye relief. Either it is an error or they just took an average of what the eye relief is from high power to low power. I get about 4" on 3x when using one. They are still a very good buy and well worth the money. |

chris,
is the WTE pictured above in the same class as the 6.5-20 x 50 that you have on the riflescopes.com site?. You know, the one that's coming on the 15th of this month. I was asking because of the price difference. I wanted to purchase that one with the rough finish. I believe it will look good on a Bushmaster varminter. Edited by redray |

The Simmons WhiteTail Classic 6.5-20x50 is three steps down the ladder of quality in the Simmons line. Good scope for the money and they do look good on black guns.
