SS 2.5-10x32 How does this scope compare to a 3x9 conquest or 3.5 x 10 x 50 diamondback or a elite 2.5 x 10 x 40 or a leupold vx2 or a ss hd10x. thanksClap

It is best suited to a lightweight AR that requires point blank to maybe 400 yards capabilities.  I don't own any of the other scopes listed other than the S10X HD, and they are so completely different that a comparison would mean very, very little.

For the price and the SS reputation for durability - and knowing SWFA stands behind their scopes - I think the scope is money well spent.  But aside from a lightweight AR, I'm not sure where else I would put this and be happy with it.

What about a .17 hmr, overkill?? I think they have a rimfire version in the same variable.

SWFA SS Ultralight 2.5-10x32 Riflescope Details

  • Matte Finish
  • Plex Reticle
  • 1" Tube
  • Weight: 9.5oz
  • 0.25 MOA Adjustments
This scope's big selling point is that it is light weight.  Apparently that makes a huge difference to some people particularly those who hunt sheep in the mountains. (I don't).  I would have a lot more interest in this scope if it had a mil dot based reticle like the mil quad even if it was not FFP a SFP scope could be used at 10 X to range find known size targets and the marks used as if they were a ballistic reticle for hold over by simply running a ballistic chart with drop in mils.   Since I have not seen this scope ( they are in Texas Im in Iowa) I am not qualified to make a comparison between it and the other scopes you mentioned other than knowing that my SS scopes have worked reliably the glass has been decent the customer service superb.   One other consideration is that the 32 mm objective makes this scope it's brightest around 5x and lower so when you compare to scopes with larger objectives they will likely be brighter at 6x for 42mm and up to 7x at 50mm.  There again this is a scope for a guy that wants a really really light weight scope.

I just received the final prototype with the production BDC reticle and started looking at it. This is not the third UL SS I have looked at and all the have been very consistent.

I think they are at their best on hunting ARs, larger rimfires, and mini-action boltguns like CZ 527.

I used one for a bit on a 7.62x54r boltgun and there were no durability issues.
