I have been reading EVERYWHERE and looking up and down for a good set of mounts and rings for my .270 and I am about to pull my hair out!  I've set up nine rifles over my years and it's never gotten me this confused! Whacko

Like the subject says, it's a Stevens Model 200 and a Bushnell Elite 4200 is going on it.  It's going to be strictly a hunting rig and I would wager my longest shot EVER with this rifle will be 300 yards +/-.

All the reading about "It's a round setup" or "It's a flat setup" has me wigging out and I would hate to purchase the absolutely wrong mounts and rings! Loco

HELP!!!

Take a look at it, if the rear of the receiver is flat you need the mount for a flat receiver and vice versa, all the fronts are round. Egw makes a nice one peice so does leupold and Burris makes the two peice as well as leupold.
Just make sure you order the mounts for the right length action, short or long.

I'd take Earl's advise.

I appreciate it!  I do have the rounded sights and was pretty sure that I did after looking at the rifle for the first time, just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something.

My next and last question is...for my uses with this rifle, what will be the most beneficial for bore/scope alignment and 300yd+/- deer shots?  Low, medium, high or extra high profile mounts?

Thanks for the quick replies guys!

what bushnell is going on it? specifically what size is the objective. that will determine what your ring height will be as well as bolt clearance.  Give the specifics and then you can get the specific ring heights.

Bushnell Elite 4200 3x-9x-40mm.

I had put Elite 4200 in my first post, but didn't state the powers and objective, sorry about that.

I e-mailed Talley telling them what my rifle/scope combo was and they told me EXACTLY the mount item numbers I needed:

I also have a second new Stevens 200  rifle in 7mm08. I fined I enjoy shooting the 270 more for some reason.
