I seem to be seeing a lot of talk about the super sniper 10x. Is
this appropriate for an ar-15 spr build? I'm concerned that the
magnification may be too high for close in work. How would you
compare it to the Bushnell 3200 10x40?

SS is a far better scope, larger and very sturdy. It is a nice scope for an AR that is shot at distance but if you are going to do CQB it is not the ticket you want an Aimpoint or Eotech or Trijicon. If you are working at either 100 yds plus or you are working at closer ranges but without a need to rapidly acquire the target a 10 x is quite workable. 10x at 100 yds is like 1x at 10 yds, and 10x at 1000 yds is like 1x at 100 yds. the 10x is useable out a lot farther than what .223 is useable.

I have A 30-6 with A SuperSniper X20.I sighted it in at 50 yards when I first put on.I could'nt beleve how great the gun shot. You could shoot your bullet hole over and over again. The target was very clear at short distance. As soon as the line wen't cold,I moved the target way back. It's Very clear at any distance.I have the ss x10 on my bushmaster 223,What A great match that turned out to be.

You won't regret the SS. It is quite rugged, all in all a better scope than the Bushnell. I've used both. 10x on an AR shouldn't be a problem as long as you aren't doing rapid fire work. With practice you'll get used to it and the mildot is an added bonus.
