A bill introduced in Congress this week would allow for instantaneous background checks to replace a process that can take as long as nine months. The measure would also repeal the tax and, if it passes, refund the $200 to anyone who pays it while the legislation is being debated.

I hope this goes through.

This would be wonderful for young shooters coming up. Reduced hearing loss, reduced recoil, reduced noise pollution...win, win, win!

This is great news if it gets passed.  I have to adjust my cheek weld when I shoot with my suppressor because I'm smiling too much.  Bucky

Hollywood has given the masses an unrealistic view of suppressors. This would be great. In the current climate, don't hold your breath.
Freedom is something you take.
Respect is something you earn.
Equality is something you whine about not being given.

Agreed.  This is up hill all the way.  Times do change, though.  Suppressor sales are increasing.  Hopefully enough people will come to realize what they really sound like and the stigma of pew pew pew assassin tools attached to them can finally be removed.

It would stand a better chance of passage if congress wasn't being asked to repeal the tax.

If they really wanted to pass it, they would suggest increasing the tax.  Then, it would get bi-partisan support.
