Hey family,
First time posting on this discussion, i am in a bit of a pickle. I have a SAKO 85 Classic 308. i live in Australia with varying hunting environments from open country to close bush lands and everything in-between. i am torn between two optics. i am not after a tactical looking scope as its such a lovely classic rifle. so if someone could help me out between these two id love it. I honestly don't know how you could go wrong with either. The Swarovski is a step up in price, it is top end Swarovski, the Zeiss is mid-range (but mid-range Zeiss is above top end in most scope lines). Both are rated for much heavier impact rifles than .308... I have a Z6i 1-6 on my custom Champlin .378 Weatherby Magnum. I have a Zeiss Victory 2.5-10 on a Voere Titan II in 30-06... I made the mistake of letting my wife shoot it... she claimed it and it is "Hers".
If it were my choice, I would go with the Swarovski. It is a bit lighter, which many people are obsessed with, and (to my eyes) it is a bit optically cleaner than the Zeiss V6 models I have looked at...not much, but visible. If it comes down to price, the V6 wins and I don't believe it would ever be a choice one would be unhappy with.

Both great scopes. Probably your own preference.

I think that the Swaro Z6i is a solid step above the Zeiss V6.
