I am sure this have been covered before but i am new to this forum so i apologize. If there is an old thread covering this topic please point me in the right direction.

I am in the marked for a 10X fixed scope. Looking at the SWFA fixed 10X. Could someone explain the differences between the regular model and the HD model. Is the difference in price all related to the glass? What are the differences.

Thanks in advance.

HD glass will be brighter and provide more resolution, but I must say, you will only see a difference at extremely long range, having looked through both the HD and non-HD versions.  If you do a search on here for reviews on the SWFA 10x, you'll get some pretty good info, though I can't specifically recall if someone like Koshkin has done a specific side-by-side comparison of the two models.  I see you're in Texas - if you live around Mansfield, you should go to SWFA's store and check them out for yourself.  Welcome to the OT.

I owned both of them at the same time. IMO the hd glass was noticbly better all the time. Also the adjustments and knobs are better on the hd. Overall its just a much higher quality scope

Thanks for the replies guys. I knew the glass was supposed to be better but had also heard the adjustments and internals were a little better on the HD model. If it was just a glass issue i would probably go with the non HD but if the glass is better and the adjustments are better i will probably go for the HD.
