I own the classic 10 and 6 power SS scopes and i find the 6x easier to get behind and pick up stuff quicker.Im wondering is the 10X HD really that much better that it cost so much more. And if so in what way is it worth $500.00 more then the classic.I really like the mil-quad reticle on the 10X classic.

They are better. Glass is a significant upgrade and the turrets are a nice upgrade. I owned both of them for quite a few years. I took two 4 day precision rifle classes with both of them. The HD just made evything a little nicer and was more enjoyable to use. Mechanically the classic always tracked perfectly for me.
In the low light and night shoots the HD made a big diff. Also eye fatigue was near non existant with the hd for me. At times i just want to stick another 10x hd back on my stiller .308. But then i tell myself why when a variable is so much better. But there is something cool about a fixed 10x |

Good summary. A couple of other notes. HD close focus distance is quite a lot further than Classic, which easily focuses down to airgun distances. Classic also has wider FOV. As far as getting behind the scope, eye relief flexibility is more or less the same between the two designs. Optically, the HD really has substantially better contrast which makes a big difference in low light. Turrets on the HD have better feel and more resistance, so they are not likely to be accidentally bumped. Ultimately, the 10x HD is, I think, a re-incarnation of the original Bausch & Lomb 10x tactical riflescope that has reputation for being one of the most bulletproof scope designs ever made and my experience with the HD supports that. I think if they ever upgrade the elevation turret on it to have zerostop and add a tree reticle, they will sell like gangbusters. There is some nostalgia out there for a top notch 10x and this one is close to the best out there right now this side of a S&B. General disclaimer: I have one of these with MilQuad reticle and it will be pried from my cold dead hands some day. ILya

Thanks ILya.I will give this scope some serious thought.I was shooting rimfire today at 350 yds and if the glass was a little better then the classic it would of been easy on my eyes.Im really sold on the mil-quad reticle.

Thanks ILya. Always so informative.
Am I wrong in not seeing parallax on the 10x PMII?
