Looking at purchasing this scope for my RRA AR 15. I already have the RRA 30mm mount. Just wondering if this mount would suit the SWFA scope or should I get the Bobro Mount that goes with this scope.
Main use is for small varmint hunting 300yard max, 3 gun shoots, maby some targets as well. Any other scopes that would suit my situation better than the SS 1-4x24 feel free to let me know. Also would get the Exposed turrets/donut

your current mount should work just fine. You'd be hard pressed to beat the SS 1-4 on an AR 15 IMO

Your current mount will work; however, the Bobro mount is a nice setup, as is the American Defense Recon mount.
The 1-4 SS is a great little scope, I have one on a 300BLK and it has been banged around plenty, still dead nuts.

I concur. The B mount is good to go.

I have the SS 1-4X and bought the Bobro EXTENDED version. I did this based on the experience I had with the Trijicon Accupoint TR24R which has similar eye relief. The picture above will not give you adequate space for eye relief if you are a NCH type.
I'd send along a picture, but I'm on a tight time schedule. Good luck.

Welcome to Optics Talk, Scott.
Mine is the "slightly forward" version. http://swfa.com/Bobro-Precision-Optic-30mm-Mount-P47627.aspx |

I have 3 of the slightly forward versions and find the eye relief just right. I am one whom like my nose real close as well.

To each his own, I've just found that the extended version gives me the most flexibility with rail space when using extended eye relief scopes. And on my SCAR 16s it keeps the rail mount back to clear the charging handle. On my ARs it keeps the mount back so I can mount other accesories on or close to the receiver to keep the weight balanced and reduce the swing weight of the font end, in addtion to ensuring adequate eye relief. But it is a matter of preference I guess. |

I like to use the Laure SPR mount. It works well with my MR/T 1.5-5X scope. Might want to check out the sample list for some mounts if you think you need a better mount than what you already have.
