I am attempting to mount a Hensoldt 6-24x72 on a DTA covert. The rail on the rifle is continuous, so I need very tall rings. Does anyone have experience with any really tall rings? I need greater than 1.55". I tried my aadmount and it is a few thousandths too short.
I see Barrett has some tall rings, 1.6", but have never used them. I can do an AR mount if necessary, but none of my stuff is that tall.

Any help?

I still have these rings.  You are welcome to them if you want them.  I went with a Near Alphamount.  I just did not care for the "look"

With the Near:

Dan, first, thanks for the offer.
Next, in either setup, could you place the scope (in mount) on a flat surface and not have the objective touch?

The DTA has a continuous rail, so the mounting surface, stock to muzzle, is flat. I need a mount tall enough for the scope to sit on a flat surface without the objective touching.

What brand are the rings?

Understood.

What brand are the rings?

That particular set of rings is custom made by Ellis Optics before the fire.

This picture is with the Near Alphamount…ckearance is visible…     BigDaddy currently has the rings with my Ellis Optics scope on my 50BMG.  Clearance is much greater with the rings.

Near emailed me, 1.688" rings in stock.  I will try an AR riser first, then might have to go with the 1.688" rings.

Whatever I need to do, it should have a nice carry handle-like look to it when done.

More to follow.
