I use the med mounts for my M70 with a 2.5-8x32 Conquest and have no issues. Most of your issue may come from the eyepiece of the scope you are using. My Euro scope eye pieces are much larger than my Sightron, Minox and Leupold.

Yeah that is why i am asking, i know that the Conquest has a rather large eye piece, so i am pretty sure that i will have to go with the Med mounts. Thanks

I have lows on my pre 64 M70 but I have a Bushnell Elite mounted on it. Bolt just clears.
