my buddy's  STG 58 -FAL made the full circle on a couple of guys before I got it all claiming it kicked  even w/ gas adjusted all the way out  somebody suggested  piston as the culprit   so a call to Tapco for replacement    to no avail still didn't care for it so traded it for  Bushmaster AR(or whatever letters they're using )-15 A-1 .223    yeah it's a step down in caliber   but's something I can teach family membersw/it and not worry about them bruising a shoulder or flinching        I've no expereince w/either DSA or Galil although I consider the latter  in the group of "The  Holy Grail"   Benecio Del Toro  and Eric Bana made good use of it in "The Way of the Gun" and "Munich"   them and of course the many in the IDF

I have a 6.5 Grendel from Alexander Arms and love it. The few times I have taken it out, it has been .5 MOA at worst. Very low recoil and very accurate.

is the 6.5 Grendel based on .223 or .308 ?   I've heard of the round but didn't do any research on it    how far can it/you shoot accurately?

isshogai,

It's AR-15 platform, not AR-10. It will shoot 600 yards pretty easily and there are guys I have talked to who shoot to 1000 with it. Most of them who shoot that far have at least a 24" barrel, mine is 19.5". Personally, I have shot mine to 300 and kept it just under MOA, it was pretty breezy that day too.

You were technically right about the 7.62x39, Dale. There are a lot of guys fireforming 7.62 brass for their Grendels.

It is an AR-15 lower isshogai. C products is making magazines, though there have been a few who have use .223 mags. I believe they had to alter the lips some for reliable feeding.

Amazing  how accurate these AR guns are right out of the box. I am told that Rock River Arms has guns built but not released to sell yet because of a law suit with armalite. I would really like to have a .308 RRA gun - you can see them on their web site.
