If and when they do start paying the players, the scholarships will be gone. The players who brought up the pay, said they were employees of said college and should be paid as so. Well the employees don't get scholarships, or books bought for them, or free meal plans, or transportation to and from the games OH they also have to pay for the schooling, tutors, food, books, transportation. So it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm going to go with a little birdie told me. No offense, just can't say right now. This has been talked about 2 years before the players started to try and get a union involved or it hit the media.

I respect that. And for those reading this post that don't know, Brandon is employed by a major Southern university and is probably privy to inside information.

I'm baffled at how you could back out a kid's scholarship, make him pay for it and then hold him academically accountable to be eligible to participate come game day.
Maybe I misunderstood.

I'm just gonna isolate my comments to the article I read recently about UT.

I agree, Ric. Sports is a momentary diversion from a lot of very bad news.

On the "pay vs. scholarship" deal, I don't like the idea of paying college athletes AT ALL, but I'd be all in favor of revoking full ride scholarships and room & board in exchange. That'll get their attention REAL QUICKLY! As the father of a high school senior who will be headed to college next year, I'm well aware of what it costs to put a kid through college today! Any kid who doesn't appreciate the tremendous benefit they're receiving for a full ride college scholarship and the wonderful gift they've been blessed with to play sports at a high level needs to be booted out on his arse and try to make a living without the springboard college is providing them to be able to live the American dream!

Ole Miss goes into Baton Rogue to play LSU tonight. This will be a good game, I believe.

U of Miss - 24
LSU - 27

Playing in "Death Valley" at night is a TOUGH deal.

Well, at least one of Mississippi's teams won. The Mad Hatter pulled out another 4th quarter win. My Gators did not loose... ha ha.

I had the point spread right, just not the score. I think the LSU fans got under Bo's skin last night. I heard the commentators state that he was trash talking the fans during the game. Bo looked horrible in the 4th quarter.

I would NEVER bet against The Hat at Death Valley, under the lights. I don't care who the opponent was.

In contrast to that game, have you guys ever seen scores as high as they've been overall this year?

Exhibit A: TCU hung 82 points on Texas Tech last night!

No kidding.

Oregon - 59
Cal. - 41

Zona - 59
Wash. State - 37

Kent State - 66
Old Dominion - 51

TONS more too. G Tech hung put 56 on Pitt.

Sounds like there's some teams that could use a good defensive coordinator.

Hey...here's one who may be available hopefully SOON.

Oh man...I'm already dreading this weekend in Jax. I can see it now....

Gurley gets reinstated....runs for a gazillion yards...4 TDs....becomes Heisman front runner again!
Chubb gets a 100 yards.....Mason bombs the gassed Gators DB's.....Gator "O" is blanked....

I agree Mark. Luckily, I'll be packing for our trip (leaving Sunday) so I'll miss most of the slaughter.

As an aside, Rich Rod's name has been mentioned often here... just sayin'.

Yep, I'm seeing that too. Michigan was a flop for him, but I think there were unseen forces at work to undermine him there. Or so I heard.
