Recently purchased a Tikka T3 lite in .223 rem and have purchased a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 scope for the gun but can't figure out what base/ring combo to go with. I know there are already forums posted regarding this situation but its hard to sift through so many fourms to find what I'm looking for. I have looked at the DNZ game reaper mount/ring set-up but I'm wondering also about the Warne Maxima scope rings designed for the Tikka. Or should I just stick with some weaver bases and just buy a set of rings. Optilock's are out of the question (haha). Any ideas?

Have you considered Tally mounts?

I have read a great deal about them actually. Do they come individually or in a pair? Also should I go with a medium height or would low be sufficient? Thanks for the welcome also, and the quick response!

I'd just use the factory mounts that comes with the gun. A .223 is virtually no recoil, so as long as you do not overtighten or strip the factory scews, they should be fine(but the factory screws are very soft). I just picked up a T3 and went with Leupold standards at $60 bucks for bases and rings. I like the look and know they are all I need with a little lock tight on the threads. I think they look better than Talleys or DNZ but I am sure that is plenty arguable.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I tried ordering the Talley's through SWFA but they won't ship to Canada. Looking for another place to order from now.

Finally have the Talley lightweight rings ordered and had another issue with ordering the scope. Managed to order a Vortex Diamond Back 4-12x40. Never realised it would be so hard to have optics shipped across the boarder. Oh well, hopefully everything works out from here.
