I have been trying to decide which scope to purchase for my Cooper JSR 22 l.r., but I can't decide between the Weaver or Clearidge 3-9x32. I like the target knobs on the Clearidge, but I don't know much about the manufacturer. Has anyone tried one? I've owned a few Weavers over the years and I've always liked them, but I understand they have been sold to ATK, and I wonder if the warranty will still be honored on the current stock of scopes. Let me know the pros and cons of each.

I can attest to the quality of the Bushnell rimfire scopes. They are very good for the money. Adjustments are accurate and the glass has good resolution. They are one of my favorite choices, presently.
I don't know anything about Clearidge scopes. If you try the search function here you might find they have been mentioned briefly. Regarding ATK, I think the optics are now where they belong,. ATK was already committed to the Weaver mounts and now Weaver optics has come full circle back to where they belong. Quality optics and mounts at reasonable prices. |

Tahqua,
Thank you for the response. I'm leaning toward Weaver.

I just got reminded of Clearidge when you brought it up....so, I looked up their website!!
They look like darn nice scopes! NORMAL, standard-sized eyepieces!
A reviewer said the AO Rimfire scope focused down to 20 FEET!! I like it!! Choice of TWO reticles---regular duplex or skinny crosshairs....

"HEY, que pasa, tu gringos??!
I was just over poking around on RimfireCentral and barm1 was over there, also....and we got a lot of response to Clearidge scopes over there!! Woohoo!! Apparently Clearidge Scopes themselves, in person, actually contribute "talk" over there. The Optics Zone ( which is a competitor of SWFA...
Apparently, the glass in the Clearidge scopes is the same as the Bushnell 4200....and the rimfire scope is manufactured in the same plant as Weaver, Light Optical Works. Also, Clearidge is coming out, this summer, with some tactical scopes--3 of them---and the Optics Zone folks said they will be using Bushnell 6500 glass in them!! Maybe we should get our hands on some of those scopes and play with them!! I am beginning to get all excited about them!
"OK, Now maybe I shall keel all ju gringo chimichangas!!!!............"

Tactical isnt just about glass its about reliability and reputation and the list that Law Enforcement and the Military buy from is a very short list.

Oh good. I don't even shoot tactical or competition. I just thought maybe someone would want to know. I was really interested in the important stuff---like 22 shooting.
