That was a great write up and this whole thread has been excellent.  I'm going to be in the market for a 30/06 following xmas and both of these rifles were on the list along with Ruger....  Thanks gang and keep the opinions coming.

Glad you got yours.  I've used the Leupold flip-ups on my Sako and generally liked them.  I did have trouble with the hinge pin wanting to come out on the objective cover.  While they do protect the lens I came to the conclusion that they were just another thing to break.  Now I'm using the neoprene cover for transport and hunting with no covers.  Another thing; they offer no protection from recoil like the rubber piece.

I have a new x bolt in medallion grade its a lot better gun than my sako shoots better and looks 100% better sako has gone down on their finish on metal and wood .the xbolt is by far the best value since you can buy 3 xbolts for one sako
