I don't remember having a stock 700 trigger at 4 lbs or below.  My 2003 VS's trigger was a 7lbs from the factory.  My BDL at 6lbs. etc. etc.  I own 5 700's bought new and the lowest was a Sendero SFII with X Mark Pro at just under 5lbs.  It adjusted well down to 2lbs but I still replaced it with a Jewell.

    Man! what a difference in poundage.  They are all over the spectrum with trigger pulls.
If you don't want to stand behind our troops, then we will gladly have you stand in front of them.

The Etronx trigger is similar in feel and outward appearance only.  Since it is only a switch, it doesn't have quite the same safety ramifications as the standard mechanical trigger, since there isn't a sear holding back the fire control system under spring tension.

Well as I watched more of Bob Dunlap last night, he later on said that if you want it lower than 4.5#s to take it to a trigger expert.  So he just does not want novices doing trigger jobs it appears.

I've had the old style 700 triggers down to 1.5-2lbs. but it takes some time.  Minimal amount of sear engagement is the limiting factor.

 I know this is a little off the subject and i know there was a thread about this awhile back.
 I bought a cdl 257 weatherby and i want to adjust the trigger. The last time i worked on a new xmark trigger i left a piece of the allen wrench in it because of the glue. Anyone have a secret methed of loosening the glue?    Thanks

 Heat gun worked Fine. It was at 6 lbs got her down to around 3 lbs.
 Just waiting on brass & dies, then we'll see how she shoots.
