I've added a new hunting rifle. The scope I'm using is a 4-12X52 Kahles helia CL. Eventually I'll likely replace that with a scope having target turrets and approach longer shots with that. The rifle is a Savage 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22" tube. My method for shooting at longer rangers is based on knowing the bullet trajectory, and using a range finder. I don't have a Chronograph, so i'm left to run a ballistic calculator program. The bullet weight and BC are known, but not the MV.
Has anyone chronographed a 6.5 Creedmoor 140 Gr or 129 gr Hornady factory ammo bullet out of that barrel length? Thanks.

Every gun will be a little different, but you could probably take 20 to 50 fps off for each inch and be pretty close on velocity.
Once you get your ballistics from your program go confirm it on the range. That is the only way you will really know what your gun will do. Practice, practice, practice.
