Hi there,

I am looking for a scope to put on my new Weatherby Mk V SVR in 22-250. I have narrowed it down to the Ziess Conquest 6.5-20x50 and the Trijicon 5-20x50. I cannot make a decision, even after reading some very good posts on this forum. I know they are both very good scopes.

I will be doing a lot of work at the range with the rifle, but I hope to be able to get out and about someday and do some hunting with it.

With the Zeiss, I would go with the Mil Dot reticle (I think it is a number 4?) and the trijicon, I would go mil dot also but with green IR.

A couple of things I have read about the trijicon that it only has limited adjustment, so in essence it would only be good for 600yards without considering tapered bases, etc. Is this the same with the Zeisss??

Also, I believe that the Trijicon has 1/4 moa turrets with a mil reticle. I'm thinking that this may complicate matters if I want to use it for longer ranges. Does the Ziess have a moa or mil dot reticle? I would rather mil. - mil. but unfortunately Ziess or Trijicon does not have this option.

Also, would the Trijicon be more versatile being a 5-20 vs the Zeiss @ 6.5-20?

The only scope I have ever owned is my Leupold VX3 3.5-10X40, so I have no idea of what to expect. I hope the 20x will not be too big for the rifle, but on the other hand I don't want to be wishing I got a higher power scope.

Also, I can get them for around the same price. I'm in Australia Smile

Please help me make up my mind because I am torn between the two.

cheers,

+1...And its first focal plane, with LOTS of internal adjustment for stretching out that 22-250!
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Looks perfect but a bit out of my price range. Anyway, I impulsively ordered the Trijicon. I hope I won't regret it!

Unfortunately since you are in  Australia you can not get a SS scope. They do not export outside of the USA. Both are great scopes, so you should be fine.

And boy would I be pissed if they did, as I really wanted Mil turret instead of Moa. At least the Trijicon is a good scope. Or should I have bought a Counter Sniper? Big Grin
