I currently have a 6x SS on a my M700 SPS Tactical. The SS is a wonderful scope, but I'm wanting to changge it out for a variable power. I use the rifle for hunting and paper punching. Ranges usually vary up to around 500 yds.
I have 2 scopes that I am debating on right now. They are Nikon 4.5-14x40 Buckmaster Riflescope with BDC and Bushnell 4.5-14x44 Legend Ultra HD Rifle Scope with Mil-Dot. http://swfa.com/Nikon-45-14x40-Buckmaster-Riflescope-P42256.aspx http://swfa.com/Bushnell-45-14x44-Legend-Ultra-HD-Rifle-Scope-P53010.aspx I am open to other ideas around $300. |

I wouldn't spend the money to change from the SS 6X to those, wouldn't be a significant upgrade and might actually be a downgrade with reguards to dialing in your shots. Honestly I'd save a bit more and look at the SS 3-15. Trade your SS 6X in on it and it shouldn't be to much more than the $300 you're looing to spend anyway.

Well, I didn't want to trade in the 6X, because I had plans for it on my AR.

I had the Niko Plex reticle. I have had the BDC and while its not terrible, may not be ideal for big game or target.
To me, it's more of a varmint reticle, when used with a range finder. |

I wasn't sure if I would like the BDC or not. I really like a mil-dot.

You'd be better served, according to your preferences, with the Mil Dot. They used to make the BM with MD. |

Yeah, my brother has the buckmaster with the MD. I know it's a good scope, I was just wondering how the Bushnell compares.
