I recently had a pair of Leitz Marseptit 8x50 binoculars professionally restored internally. I’d like to upgrade to newer Leitz or Leica. Any idea what model to upgrade to at a modest increase in price that I’ll see a decent improvement?

I have a Leitz Marseptit...but it is 7x50...yours should be also.....very good glass for their time period and not bad even today.....there are so many different choices out there today it hard to determine which way you intend to go....smaller...larger...higher magnification....what will you be using them for.....I know the Marseptit is rather large for birding.....

Leitz changed its name to Leica some time back because of the strength of the Leica name in cameras. Sadly, Leica and "moderate increase" don't belong in the same sentence. Welcome! Bill

Thanks for the replies and yes I should have said 7x50. I was wishing I could go to an 8 power in 40 or 50 mm. I would be using it mostly for bird watching and sons sporting events in Lacrosse. I was thinking being professionally restored internally might make the Marseptit’s worth 400 or so. If that’s the case I’d hope to get something used for around $800?
