I inherited these 35+ year old binoculars from my Dad. I know very little about binoculars and am curious how these might stack up to current day models. Thanks for any input.

As far as optics and mechanics go, they are not waterproof, and they are not phase coated and fully multicoated. This will make them appear dim and less sharp compared to current binoculars. In terms of optical performance, a $400 made in China these days is better. Those Zeiss are worth more as a collectors' item then as working binoculars. If they are in excellent condition you may get $500 for them on e-bay, especially now that many people get their tax refunds. Sure you can use them for hunting or whatever, but a mid-range Leupold will be much brighter and sharper.
