Any thoughts, opinions or other recommendations for comparable scope in the $200 range? Will be used for varmint/predator hunting. I have several nice scopes including Swaro, Kahles, Zeiss, but I'm wanting to keep this one more economical for now.

That is a very good scope in that price range.
I like the 3-9X40 even better from a form factor perspective. |

I like the diamond back much better than the buckmaster, glass is a touch better and if you ever have issues the CS is night and day difference from my experience.

+1. At times the Nikon CS can be "problematic". That alone would swing me toward the Diamondback. |
