The ones that are on sale with SWFA right now.  Would it be a suitable optic for some 500-1000 yard shooting with a 20 MOA base?  Is there enough MOA adjustments inside the scope to handle that sort of drop at 1000 yards with a .308 rifle with a 20MOA base?

Thanks - looks like a great deal!

Isn't that info listed on the Vortex site? I can't imagine a mfg. not having those specs. published on their website.

The ones on sale right now also have mismarked turrets. Something to keep in mind if knob twirlin' is in your future.   -Al

I was just looking it up!  75MOA elevation and windage.

Actually they don't have their 1" tube version listed anymore.  That is for the 30mm one.

I swear somewhere I saw it had only 50MOA.

With a 20MOA base, what would I need for 1000 yards in MOA adjustments?

Also, if I shot a .223 out to say 500 yards, what would I need in MOA adjustments?

Wow - just saw this on another website advertising the product:

Maximum Elevation/Windage Adjustment
Windage: 25 MOA
Elevation: 25 MOA

URP?

[QUOTE]
Windage: 25 MOA
Elevation: 25 MOA [QUOTE]

  Typo by the distributor?

I'd almost believe this to mean 25 moa, EACH side of mechanical center, both up and down, as well as sideways.
50 total isn't too bad, but 25 total would be rather limiting for many uses.
I think Doug (Tahqua) has just acquired a new one; hopefully, he'll see this thread...

I think it would suit a .204 very nicely for most of the things that cartridge is designed to do.

Thanks, my other option would be a Swift Premier 3 x 9 x 50.  Any suggestions which way you would go.

The only thing I can confirm now is that the top of the knob says 1/4" and there are 1/8" graduations for each inch. I'll check out the overall moa later today.
I can also say that this scope is outstandung for the money. The mil-dot reticle combined with the 50mm lens and 6x lets me see targets out to 150 yds at near dark. I have this on a very heavy recoiling Webley Patriot that I have shot almost a whole tin out of. It is still dead on.
I was thinking about another for my RWS 350 but the FOV is not very good for 20 ft shooting.

kado101 I would go with the vortex . the 3-9 is not enough scope to utilize the full range of the .204.

I had forgotten that I have a 8x32x40 Redfield with Target Turrets. I put it on today now to find the time to sight it in.
