I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Vortex Razor HD has the same type eye piece bayonet as the Swarovski. I've scoured various forums, and can not find the source.

Does anyone know if the Swarovski 30x fixed eye piece does in fact fit and work properly with the Vortex Razor HD??

Much obliged.

It seems that there is some debate about this. I have a Razor HD, and have not tried to mount a Swarovski eyepiece. I have heard that some have had them mount and latch. Some have them mount, and not latch, and some can not get them to mount at all. The mounts are definitely similar in design and appearance. The scopes also have the same focal length..

I have seen many posts that Swarovski eyepieces interchange with the Zen Ray ED2, however. I have seen pics of the Swaro 30x fully mounted on the ED2.

I read about it from the birder dudes at birdforum.  IIRC most of those guys say the Razor HD eyepieces are dead ringers for swaro's.  I can't find the link though.

I think Henry Link on BF couldn't get his Swaro 30x to fully mount on his test Razor. Also, his test Razor had defective optics.

Appreciate the feedback gentleman. I just found a thread on the BirdForum where JonC was stating the Swarovski zooms and the 30x would fit the Razor. I believe this is the original source I recall reading.

Just saw on another forum that Vortex Razor HD can share EP with ZEN ED2 spotter. In an essence, they are almost identical spotting scopes.

Internal examination shows they are not the identical scope.  Henry Link was not able to seat his 30x Swarovski eyepiece on the Razor HD body he evaluated.  That scope was optically defective though.
