Walleye tonight with zucchini & summer squash sautéed in Amish butter.
Yahba Dabba Dooooo! Forgot to add a side of Crowley's Cottage Cheese. And now using Himalayan pink salt!!! Outrageous! 😎. 👍 And a Haagen Dazs Almond Chocolate covered Vanilla Bar for Dessert. Edited by Peddler - June/30/2015 at 19:11 |

Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.
There are some who do not fear death... for they are more afraid of not really living |

What? No mention of Walleye cheeks?
Canton Lake in Western Oklahoma is the scene of the annual walleye tournament known as the Canton Walleye Rodeo. As far as I know, my Mom, Vada Robertson, was/is still the only woman to have ever won the tournament. Her picture was on the cover of a magazine and she won a bunch of cool prizes, including a very cool and expensive rod and reel. The next year, Mom and Dad were again fishing in the tourney on a day when the lake was very rough (not uncommon.) Mom was using her prize rod and reel when a combination of big waves upset her balance and she lost her grip and the rod went overboard. A few days later, a member of my family (don't remember who) was fishing that spot and snagged her rod and pulled it aboard. Ps I'm not kidding about Walleye cheeks. |

These Walleyes are the perfect eating size, 17"-19" so cheeks are very small. Anything over 19" goes back.
I've brought Halibut cheeks home from Alaska twice, some were the size of hockey pucks and absolutely delicious. |
