I am thinking of purchasing a T series Weaver (either a 24 or 36x).
What are they like? For the price are there better buys? Thanks |

I've hears rumors that ATK might discontinue the T24 for poor sales. I have no clue if the rumors are true or not but it would be a shame. The T24 is a fine target scope and much more affordable than the Sightron offering. As you would expect from a 24x40mm scope the exit pupil is a tiny 1.6mm making eye placement critical. But the T24 is very clear and very bright for a 24x40mm scope. As with any 24x scope finding the target is the biggest challenge but once located the fine 1/8 MOA dot makes tight groups a real possibility - limited only by the shooter and his rifle, and not by the scope.
My CZ453 sporting a Weaver T24. If you need to save $100 then the Weaver 6-24x42 V24 is a fine scope. Not quite in the T24's league but still a mighty fine scope - especially with the Varmint-Plex reticle. All it lacks are the target knobs. My home brewed 10/22 sporting a Weaver V24. Many thanks for your thoughts.
My intended use is for BR30 22LR shooting . I am not a real fan of dots much preferring a fine crosshair if it is available as I am simply not used to using dots. I think that I will be paying around $700 Australian over here. Again, sincere thanks for your comments. |

$700.00 Aussie .... there are alot of other great scopes ! I'm not much on weavers anymore... they've been bought and sold so much ... who knows if their warranties will be honored in the near future ! I'd look at other brands if I were you .
