HELP,
What rings / base would you go with?
Score is a Kahles 3-9X42 and rifle H-S Precision rifle built on a Remington model 700 action (H-S 24 inch fluted tube & H-S stock).
Here are my 4 contenders.
1) Leupod MK4 2 part base anf Leupold MK 4 1 inch rings.
+ Built like a tank.
- Real costly & heavy.
2) Cone-trol rings and base.
+ Real streamline and smooth.
- A little rare, costly, and a pain in the ass to mount up.
3) Game Reaper DNZ unit.
+ Like that the unit is one solid peice and cost is fair.
- Not sure this unit is up to my scope / rifle combo.
4) Taley LW 2 peice.
+ Not heavy and a simple design with good cost.
- Alignment / ring mark could be an issue.

Is this a heavy rifle or a carry rifle for hunting?
If hunting I would take a look at the Talley rings you have in mind. Many of our members here like them a lot. I use Talley steel rings and bases on most of my Remingtons. They are rock solid and reliable. I also have a few 30mm tubed Kahles scopes mounted up with them. |

It is a carry rifle (a little heavy weight wise), but is actually much less weight than it looks.
The rifle looks alot like a heavy weight varmit rifle or police tactical sniper rifle.
Thanks for your input.

Here is a few of my Talley set ups. The whole ring base is fitted to the cross slots in the bases. The KS on the left has levers, the other two don't.
