Whats the problem with trying to find sunshades for scopes. Somebody has to make them. I just bought a "new product" from Barska. Its a 8x32x42 AO scope with a 1/8 MOA dot (AC10830). They don,t have any sunshades. So i took off the Objective lens cap, were the sunshade would screw in.It measures 52mm with 36 TPI. Someone must make on this size? Barska doesn,t have any. Does anyone know of an other company that makes sunshades for there scopes that are this size? This is becoming a real lifetime project trying to find one. I made a rifle for my grandson for christmas, and he needs this to finish up his rifle. Any help would be really nice. Thanks  John

vangunsmith,

I looked at this scope, and a sunshade for it... I'm pretty sure this scope isn't made to have one.

The threads in this scope are recessed to far back. I could not find a shade that has a long enough thread

for this to happen. Have you considred this item?

Leupold Scopesmith Anti-Reflection Device

  • Reduces lens glare as effectively as a traditional 7" lens shade in a new low-profile design measuring only 3/8 of an inch deep.
  • Eliminates light reflection from the objective lens. Your shooting position remains uncompromised and undetected.
  • Perforated with scores of tiny light-transmitting baffles, the honeycomb structure effectively reduces lens glare with no observable loss in resolution.
