It is going to be almost impossible for you to clear that rear semi-buckhorn sight with any scope over 32mm objective. I have a 1948 Winchester and the only scopes that ever cleared that sight ( where the objective bell went PAST it ) were the old Leupold 4X ( the 11 1/2 inch long one from the old days...) and a Weaver K6 that was 13 1/2 inches long.
That sight is just two inches from the front of the receiver ring. If you want to mount 99% of scopes in the world on that rifle you will have to remove the sight or buy a LONG scope that will put the objective bell beyond that sight. I have been dealing with this for years because I don't want to push the old sight out. An old Weaver K4 had to be mounted in high rings to clear the sight because the objective bell was hovering smack over that sight.
A Bushnell 4200 4-16X 40 mm ought to be long enough with 6 1/2 inches of tube length---but you will have to push the scope all the way forward...or use a bridge one-piece base so that you can gain about a half an inch of eye relief...
Another scope that I think would work would be a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5X14 X40....that should be long enough and it has a more gradual " funnel" shape at the objective end. Also 30mm scopes have a more gradual " funnel" effect, too. That will help you sneak past that sight. I believe someone on this site mounted a Zeiss Conquest 3X9 on one of our rifles....He shoved the scope forward in a reverse mounted rear base ( and gained some room ) and the objective bell slipped PAST the sight----BUT he needed HIGH RINGS to clear the bolt handle because of FAT EYEPIECE!! HA!
You'll need to do lots of checking the websites because you will need a 6.5 inch long tube. I don't believe any Leupolds will work except the straight tube jobs.
It becomes kind of a hobby after awhile.....
