My wife and I lived on a ranch homestead out in Converse County just nearby Walker Creek on Walker Creek Rd.  Our address was Douglas, Wyoming.  We were right at the edge of Thunder Basin.  I always considered that ranch as part of Thunder Basin, although the actual Official Boundary was north of us.

The country was all the same.

Later, we moved to Gillette, which is actually north of Official Thunder Basin.....but we all knew where Thunder Basin was.  It was everywhere.

I used to work drilling rigs and we could see Devil's Tower from the location.   Big, beautiful Wyoming.

I've been in those Rocky Mountain White-outs before.  Extremely dangerous.

Cool photos and stories and all, but it would seem really difficult to know you're in Texas if you're in Wyoming, South Dakota, and New Mexico...
